Annette, our hearts ache for you. We are so deeply sorry for the loss of our darling Larry. He will be sadly missed by us and so many others. He was the dearest & sweetest man. We will never forget what a great friend he was to us. Please know we are thinking of you.

Larry and I were friendly academic rivals in high school. He always gave as good as he got: I admired that. Please accept my sympathies.

I fondly remember fun times growing up with Larry in Saginaw: chasing the girls around the Country Club, Larry's ubiquitous Chapstick, and golf (I got my first set of clubs from Dr. Joe, his used Spaulding Executives). In later years, dinners in New York, and finally the trip to Naples for a big birthday party. Larry was always the same: engaging, inquisitive, and lots of stories.
May you keep recalling the good memories during this difficult time.

The charming and outgoing Mayor of the Montenero is gone, but he certainly will not be forgotten! He offered friendship, great stories and much joy to his many neighbors and friends here in Naples. Annette . . . please know our prayers and thoughts are with you during this difficult time.

Lawrence Kessel
Lawrence (Larry) Gary Kessel died on Sunday, November 18, 2012, at his home in Naples, Florida. Beloved husband of Annette Pakula, he was the son of the late Dr. Joseph and Freda Kessel, and the son-in-law of Dr. Lawrence and Sheila Pakula. He was the dear brother of Suzi Kessel Gerber and the late David Gerber, the late Arleen Kessel Lhormer and Barry Lhormer, and dear brother-in-law of Baila and Dr. Bruce Waldholtz, Dale and Philip Perreault, and Louis and Laura Pakula, loving uncle to Steven and Sue Ellen Gerber, Molly Gerber and Jason Silverman, the late Kenneth Gerber, Marc and Brenda Lhormer, Jan Lhormer and John Moore, Matthew Lhormer, Andrew, Jennifer and Lauren Waldholtz, Frank and Elizabeth Pakula and Benjamin, Sydney and Daniel Perreault. He was the loving great uncle to Emily, Meghan and Katie Gerber, Audrey and Zachary Silverman, Arlin Moore and Anderson Lhormer.
Funeral services will be private and held on Friday, November 23, 2012. Contributions in Larry's memory may be sent to The Shelter for Abused Women and Children in Naples, Florida: www.naplesshelter.org or The Immokalee Foundation: www.immokaleefoundation.org.
In mourning at 2526 Stone Mill Road, Baltimore, MD 21208 Sunday with services at 4 PM.
