The entire congregation at MMAE is in mourning over the loss of our member, a true matriarch and our dearest friend Evelyn. Evie made everyone around her happy. She inspired all of us to squeeze every last bit of nachas out of life. When she broke a hip, or had shoulder surgery, or broke the other hip, she would hold court at Northwest. And the steady flow of visitors there, re-habbing at Tudor Heights, at Sinai or back at home said more about the love the congregation gave back to her than any words can possibly express. When she came back to shul, which was what she loved to do the most, the outpouring of love for Evie was palpable. We share that love with Ruthie, George, Harry and the rest of the extended family. May the wonderful memories of our beloved Evelyn provide you with a measure of comfort.

I will remember the laughter we shared together,
I will remember the songs you sang to me,
I will remember the joy you brought to so many lives
I will remember the smile you showed so frequently
I will remember you, EVELYN

Evelyn's gorgeous smile and spirit brightened up a room... and the lives of so many that were blessed with her presence. She was truly an inspiration on how to embrace life. I know that Evelyn will be deeply missed , especially by her family at MMAE .

Dear Ruthie my heartfelt condolences on the loss of a most wonderful woman, your Mother. She and my mother would celebrate their birthdays together, which was 1 day apart. Your father Nathan would take them to dinner each year to celebrate. Evelyn and Ann Dubinsky are together once again.

I was so sadden to read of your mom's passing. Our moms we such good friends, seems like very few from the Moses Montefiore group are still around. I always enjoyed seeing your mom whenever I went to Shul with my mom. Your mom always had a smile on her face!

So sorry to hear about your mom! We visited her this past year on one of our trips back to Baltimore, and found her cheerful and still fully engaged in life, watching baseball games on TV, showing us photos of her family and the great-grandkids in particular. What a wonderful role model for us all! We hope the fond memories will sustain you through this difficult time.

Evelyn's cheerful smile, sense of humor and spirit were a joy to all who were lucky enough to be in her company. Her outlook was amazing. She was able to laugh, even about things that had not gone so well (like when we commiserated and laughed about the meal we both got sick after...) Her absence will be deeply felt and she will be dearly missed by all of us at MMAE.
