It was a blessing that this service was shared live so that we were able to hear the wonderful testament to Sasha's life. His passions and tenacity shined through everyone's words. We spent some wonderful times with him when he lived in New Haven and during his last two months. Our friendship spanned three decades, and our family has many stories of Sasha that will keep his spirit alive. Our last times with him last week were sacred moments of love and farewell as Yuri stood vigil by his brother's side.

Alexander "Sasha" Murinson was a great friend, but more importantly he was a wonderful father. His children meant the world to him and he did everything possible in his final years to spend more time with them. They should know that he loved them dearly and wherever he is will be doing everything he can to help them. Zichrono l'vrachah.

Sasha was a kind hearted man with a passionate soul for the Jewish people and humanity in general. He had a way about him of being able to befriend others. He was the salt of the earth and a high member of the intelligentsia at the same time. There are no words that can adequately describe how much Sasha loved his kids. He became a member of our family and our kids adored him. Sasha was a rare person who could think outside the box while mastering the traditional language. He was a paradox and a joy to behold. I wish there were more like him and I will greatly miss him.
