Matt Levinson officially joined the team at Levinson's in 2005. He grew up in Pikesville, surrounded by family already in the business, and attended Pikesville High School. When not in school, Matt learned every job at the funeral home from the ground up. He attended the University of Delaware where he earned his Bachelor of Science degree in Business Administration, then CCBC, where he earned his Mortuary Science degree. Not long after, he joined the staff at Levinson's as a licensed funeral director.
Matt now serves as President of the company, running day to day operations, building his vision of how Levinson's will operate to serve future generations, and constantly looking for ways to improve the experience for Levinson's families. First-class customer service has always been at the forefront of how Levinson's operates, and it is something that Matt is very passionate about. Approaching every individual with their specific needs in mind drives the business in the direction that sets it apart from the rest. Matt's true passion is his role as a funeral director, meeting with families and guiding them through the funeral process, and helping to plan services that honor their loved ones.
Matt is a member of Beth El Congregation and Baltimore Hebrew Congregation and is involved with several boards and committees, such as the Jewish Cemetery Association (JCA), Jewish Community Services (JCS), Jewish Funeral Directors Association (JFDA), and Kavod. Matt and his wife, Katelyn live in Pikesville and have two young children, Zach and Jillian, who are the 6th generation Levinsons. He loves spending time with his wife and children, likes to play golf and is a fan of the Baltimore Orioles and the Ravens. Matt is hopeful that, one day, Zach and Jillian will take an interest in the family legacy and become the next generation to carry on the tradition at Levinson's...no pressure.
