Ronald Strauss

Ronald Strauss, age 82, of Michigan City, IN, passed away on Thursday, June 7, 2018 at Life Care Center in Michigan City. Ronald was born November 26, 1935 in Brooklyn, NY to Leo and Jean (nee Merin) Strauss who preceded him in death. He was married on February 5, 1961 in Baltimore, MD to Roberta Henriques who survives.

Ronald is also survived by his children: Jeffrey L. Strauss of Buffalo Grove, IL, David F. (Deb) Strauss of Charlotte, NC and Brian L. Strauss of Michigan City, IN; grandchildren: Leo, Eli, Jacob, Joshua, Hannah and Ilana; sister: Barbara Sherman. Also preceded in death by his daughter: Robin Frances Strauss.

He retired from Bethlehem Steel after 42 years of service as a special engineer. Ronald was a member of Sinai Temple in Michigan City, and member of B’nai Brith and Sinai Temple Brotherhood. He served as VP of the Sinai Temple Board, and was a longtime member of the Board of Trustees. Ronald served on the Michigan City Housing Authority and the Michigan City Sanitary Board. He volunteered at Franciscan St. Anthony Health and was a member of the Michigan City Lions Club. Ronald was widely known both for his sense of humor, and the support he provided for friends and family; he will be greatly missed.

Funeral Services will be held on Sunday, June 10, 2018, 2:00 PM at Sinai Temple located at 2800 Franklin St. Michigan City, IN. Interment will be held at Hebrew Friendship Cemetery-3600 E Baltimore Street on Wednesday, June 13, at 12 pm.
