A great Jewish woman, who loved the Jewish people, her husband and family, haTorah ve-ha-Mitzvah, Israel, the world. A great loss for all who loved her and every community her presence graced.
May you find comfort in many precious memories. It was a privilege to know her.

I remember Mrs. Nelkin from her days patiently teaching my confirmation class (including how to bake challah) at New Orleans's Congregation Beth Israel. May her memory be for a blessing.

I'm so sorry to hear of Dr.Nelkin's passing. Such a wonderful teacher, both in school and life lessons. I feel so priviledged to have had her as a teacher at Warren Easton High School in New Orleans. I visited Dr.Nelkin in Baltimore 3 years ago with my children. So glad I was able to personally thank her 40 plus years later, as I appreciated all those lessons even more! My thoughts and prayers are with you.
