A bereaved parent
Apr 14, 2019 02:44 PM

Sandie and Phyllis,You have joined a group that no one wishes to be a member of - the group of bereaved parents and grandparents. You will have some hard days and some even harder days ahead of you. Eventually, you will be able to say Jason's name without crying. You will be able to think about and talk about the good times that you had with your beloved son and grandson. You will be able to laugh again. You will be able to smile. You will never "get over" the death of Jason, but you will learn to live in the new reality that is a world without your Jason. My thoughts and prayers are with you.

I was not honored to know your beloved son, Jason, but want you to know that my heart broke when I saw his picture. I cannot imagine the pain you are feeling. I hope one day you will be able to make sense of this tragedy and smile again as you remember him.

My son Kevin(43) and Jason were friends in elementary and middle school in the 1980's. I always loved his strawberry blonde red hair. I know Jason went through some tough times but I hope he is at peace now. Please try to keep all the good memories close to your heart.

Something is terribly wrong with this picture. Not the beautiful one of smiling Jason, but the mental image of a mother grieving the loss of her child. May Jason forever rest in peace!

Dear Jason's family, I don't know you but I pray for you that G-d will give you strength to put one foot in front of the other as you navigate through this journey of living with your personal loss. In time I hope you will be able to think of Jason with only happy memories and smile when you see his picture.
