Dear Family of Cousin Bobby,
Bobby and my dad, Ralph Klein, were first cousins. Sisters: Eva and Sarah Nachman both married unrelated men named Klein. Bobby would always accompany Eva and Sol by driving them up to Forest Hill in Harford County to visit Sarah and Maurice Klein, my grandparents, that lived next door. It was typically a sunny summer afternoon and all would enjoy the day, sitting under the apple tree in over-sized white Adirondack Chairs while sipping lemonade, a picnic and "shooting the breeze". It was very idyllic. Bobby and my dad would spend the time talking "business" and just being together. They were 10 years apart in age and many mistakenly thought they were brothers. Bobby was always quick with a story and joke. He was typically to be found at the family firm: Klein Brothers Real Estate (Sol and Nate), in the shop in Fells Point. They were like the mayors of this working class strip back then, as Fells Point was not what it is today. They knew about everything going on around Broadway and especially the old movie house resale market. As Nate and Sol shared a home with two apartments on Taney Road, they were always together. Bobby was lived there as well for most of his "younger adult life" as he married late. He always had a gentle way and easy strait talk to me. Often a conversation ended with a half smile, a wink and a quick one line bit of advise. After mom and dad passed away, we lost touch. I tried to call him about two weeks ago with no success and last saw him after Zell passed away. So sorry for your loss. Cousin Bobby is fondly remembered.

Bobby and I go back to The early days at Beth Jacob and then all through school.
Not long on conversation, but quick witted, always a smile, and made all the guys laugh when he talked about using a broom to bang on the ceiling in the family’s first floor apt. on Taney Road to let his Uncle Natey who lived on the second floor know that (the one phone they shared) was for him.
A special guy, a one of a kind... he will be missed. Rest In Peace. Marty Levin

Dear Klein Family, I'm sad to hear of Bobby's passing. A few years younger than Bobby, he was one of the guys I looked up to in the neighborhood. Our families were close. My mom, Becky Zemel Bloom and Dot Klein Becker were school mates and remained close beyond the Becker's move to Florida. I have vivid memories of Sol and Natey stopping by the house. Through the years Bobby was a pal of our uncle, Harry Zemel, particularly during the Beth Jacob and Beth Tfiloh years. May Bobby's memory be for a blessing.
