“I really do love what I do. I enjoy the detail work of accounting, but what makes it special here is the people. It feels good to be part of a team that truly cares.”
Debbie Rea joined Sol Levinson in 2023 and serves as an Accounting Specialist. In her role, she supports the department with financial reporting and accounts payable, assists with the accounting for daily services, and serves as the accounting liaison for Levinson Monuments. Debbie has always enjoyed detail-oriented work, and accounting is truly a passion of hers. While she appreciates the precision and organization the field requires, what makes her especially happy to be at Sol Levinson is the wonderful group of people she is honored to work alongside each day.
Debbie finds the most meaning in being part of a compassionate team dedicated to caring for families during some of the most difficult times in their lives. Although she initially entered the funeral profession through an accounting opportunity, she quickly came to value the deeper purpose behind the work. Having personally experienced the tragic loss of two brothers, she understands how important it is for families to be treated with care and respect. Guided by the simple philosophy of treating others as she would like to be treated, Debbie approaches her role with thoughtfulness, empathy, and integrity.
A Baltimore City native and the youngest of six children, Debbie comes from a close-knit family. Outside of work, she is deeply involved in the dog training community and serves on the board of directors of the second-oldest dog training club in the United States. She enjoys training her seven-year-old Bernese Mountain Dog, Grete, reading, and visiting zoos both locally and abroad. Whether at work or in her personal life, Debbie brings dedication, warmth, and a genuine love for both animals and people.
