Erika Stark joined Sol Levinson in 2026 as a Funeral Director Apprentice. Her interest in funeral service grew from personal experiences with loss, along with stories from her father, who worked at a funeral home in his small hometown years before she was born. Those experiences inspired Erika to pursue a career where she could provide families with meaningful support during some of life’s most difficult moments.
As an apprentice, Erika works closely with Sol Levinson’s Funeral Directors, assisting with arrangement conferences, funeral services, and the many details involved in caring for families and their loved ones. She is currently pursuing an Associate of Applied Science in Mortuary Science and also holds a cosmetology license. Erika previously worked for a pediatric endocrinologist in Annapolis, bringing with her experience working with individuals and families in a setting where patience, care, and attention to detail were essential. She finds the opportunity to guide families through an emotionally challenging time especially meaningful and is committed to giving each family her full care and attention.
While Erika considers herself a Baltimore-area native, she spent part of her childhood living in both Germany and England. Outside of work, she enjoys hiking, reading, writing, painting, playing video games, and going on adventures with her two husky mixes, June and Agnes, affectionately known as “Aggie.” Erika also appreciates the important role humor can play during difficult times, guided by a favorite quote from E.T. “Cy” Eberhart: “Humor enables one to live in the midst of tragic events without being a tragic figure.”
