Obituary
Brian Dan Gerber, of Baltimore, Maryland, passed away on Friday, July 31st, 2026, at the age of 76. He is survived by his loving brother, Michael Gerber, and sister-in-law, Barbara Brandt, as well as cousins Gene and Linda Gerber. He was predeceased by his adoring parents, David and Peggy Gerber.
Born in Baltimore, Dan grew up in Pikesville, MD, where he attended local schools. A private person by nature, Dan had lasting bonds he shared with close family and friends. He was a lover of trivia and classic films and shows of many genres. He also had an inclusive library that reflected his broad and wide-ranging interests across many distinct fields.
His family is eternally grateful to the many friends, family, caregivers and organizations that helped Dan enjoy independence and security throughout his adult life. They wish to specifically recognize the Prologue, Inc. day and group home programs for providing long-term stability, a sense of community and ongoing support when it was needed most. Appreciation also to the staff at the Northwest Hospital Center for Wound Care for their professional aid and personal affection for Dan over the years. And very deep thanks to the dedicated professionals at Chapel Hill Nursing Center for their years of compassionate care for Dan while he was a resident. Combined, these wonderful people were a blessing to Dan and the family.
Friends are warmly encouraged to leave their favorite memories and tributes in the Sol Levinson & Bros. Funeral Home online guestbook.
Services will be held at Baltimore Hebrew Berrymans Lane Cemetery, 318 Berrymans Lane Reisterstown, MD 21136, on August 11, 2026, at 11:00 a.m. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations in his memory may be sent to Prologue Foundation, 3 Milford Mill Road, Pikesville, MD 21208.
