Obituary

Donald Stanley Saiontz, of Baltimore, MD, passed away on Thursday, August 13th, 2026, at the age of 83. He is survived by his loving sons, Carl Benjamin (Stephanie Kassan) Saiontz, Eric Adam (Gabrielle Hopkins) Saiontz, and Ryan Matthew (Debbie Barbuto) Saiontz; cherished siblings, Henry (Sharon) Saiontz, and Doris Saiontz Helman; devoted grandchildren, Alexis Catherine Saiontz, Madeline Rebecca Saiontz, Jenna Delaney Saiontz (Zack Saltzman), Peyton Cassidy Saiontz, Blake Noah Saiontz, and Hannah Rose Saiontz. He was predeceased by his beloved wife, Barbara Bloom Saiontz; and by his dear parents, Carl Benjamin Saiontz and Cecelia Saiontz Friedman.

Donald, an original “Diner Guy,” was a self-made Baltimore success story who epitomized the city’s hardworking spirit. Alongside Barbara, his beloved wife and soul mate of 60 years, he put himself through night school for college and law school and started his law career from his garage, eventually building Maryland’s largest personal injury practice. Despite the demands of running a firm, Donald coached his sons in Little League, made it home for dinner every night, and remained a trusted source of advice for a multitude of friends, family members, associate attorneys, and clients. A devoted fan of the Colts, Orioles, and Ravens, Donald’s greatest joy came from his six grandchildren. For Donald, every day was a “smile.”
