Obituary
Edith (Ede) Polack of Baltimore, at the age of 102, passed away on August 30th, 2026 at Gilchrist Hospice. She is survived by her loving niece, Deborah (nee Polack) and husband Greg Guise; adoring nephews Joel Eiseman and wife Myrna, and Samuel Polack and wife Barbara; and cherished grand-nieces and grand-nephews. She is predeceased by her loving parents Jacob and Minnie Polack; and beloved siblings Samuel, Rose Shapiro, Max, and Sara.
After the family moved from Hagerstown to Baltimore in 1942, Ede worked for the city in Child Welfare before moving to Philadelphia, PA, where she became an executive secretary for Proctor. Ede was very up-to-date politically and loved a good, sensible debate. Along with her sister Sara, she was a big supporter of the arts and theatre, and loved traveling, especially to Cape Cod. Ede’s biggest love in later years was watching and discussing upcoming tennis stars.
Service will be at Beth Tfiloh Cemetery at 5660 Windsor Mill Road in Baltimore, MD 21207, on Monday, August 31st, 2026, at 3:00 pm. Please omit flowers. Contributions in her memory may be sent to a charity of your choice.
