Edward Sandel, of Rockville, Maryland, passed away on Monday, March 30th, 2026, at the age of 86. He is survived by his brother-in law, Barry Heyman; nieces and nephew, Wendy Zanarotti, Stacey (David C.) Edward, the longtime owner of Higgers Drugs on Connecticut Avenue, was a beloved community fixture whose kindness extended far beyond his pharmacy counter. A devoted animal lover and tireless dog rescuer, he found his greatest joy in nature, capturing the quiet beauty of animals and the great outdoors through his lens as a talented hobby photographer. Edward’s legacy of compassion and his eye for the world's simple wonders will be deeply missed by the neighbors, friends, and many four-legged companions he touched throughout his life.
