Obituary
Elinor P. Laupheimer nee Platt, of Highland Park, Illinois, passed away on October 24, 2025 at the age of 87. Beloved wife of Michael H. Laupheimer z”l. Loving and proud mother of Cathy Kahn z”l (Ethan Kahn), Jan (Kenneth) Wyman, Debbie (Kevin) Freedman, and Amy (Craig) Gerstein. Adored grandmother of Jason (Michal) and Joshua Kahn, Zachary, Matthew, Melissa and Jenna Wyman, Benjamin and Sam Gerstein, and Daniel Freedman. Cherished great-grandmother of Jordan and Margot Kahn. Devoted sister of the late Howard and Sue Platt, the late Beverly and Robert Mandel and the late Gary Platt; Caring daughter of the late Bertha and Max Platt. Treasured aunt and friend to everyone who knew her.
Service and interment are private. In lieu of flowers, contributions in Elinor's memory may be made to Memorial Sloane Kettering Gynecological Research honoring her late daughter Cathy Kahn, at MSK Cancer Research, P.O. Box 5028, Hagerstown, MD 21741. Shiva will be observed at the Gerstein home, 1890 Balsam Rd, Highland Park, Illinois on Thursday, October 30th from 6:00-9:00 PM with a minyan at 7:30.
