Elinor Weil

Elinor (Pomerantz) Weil of Boynton Beach, Florida, formerly of Baltimore, Maryland, died peacefully on June 9, 2026 at the age of 95. Her daughter Michele Weil and son, Marc Weil, were with her. She also is survived by Michele’s husband, Charles S. (Chuck) Fax, of North Bethesda, Maryland; Marc’s wife, Simi Weil, of Ocean, New Jersey and West Palm Beach, Florida; five grandchildren, Jared Weil, Matt Weil, Jake Weil, Joanna Fax and Ben Fax; and seven great-grandchildren, Jackson, Sienna, Stella, Chloe, and Theo Weil, and Natalie and Samuel Fax-Klein. Her husband Ralph predeceased her in 2004. Elinor was devoted to every member of her family.

Born in Baltimore on July 9, 1930, Elinor obtained her Bachelor’s Degree at Towson University and her Masters of Science degree in Education at The Johns Hopkins University. A revered teacher at Baltimore’s Talmudical Academy, she will be remembered with great fondness and respect by the generations of students she taught there.

Private graveside services will be held at the Shaarei Zion Cemetery in Rosedale, Maryland, on June 14. Shiva also will be private. Donations in memory of Elinor Weil may be made to the Jewish National Fund, the Talmudical Academy of Baltimore or Hadassah.
