Ellen Sue Rubin

Ellen Rubin (Esther Sara Zelda bas Tzvi Yehuda) was a loving and devoted wife and mother. She was delighted to be “Bubby” to her grandchildren. A teacher’s teacher, who positively impacted the lives of hundreds and hundreds of students, Ellen opened her pupils’ minds to deep questions of morality, meaning and life through the lens of literature. Later in her career she served as a consulting teacher, helping to mold the next generation of teachers with skill and compassion. Ellen’s traits (middos) of unconditional love, simchas ha’chaim (vibrant living), compassion and warmth will live on in the many people she positively impacted over her 75+ year journey in this world. She is survived by her son Adam (Kayla) and her grandchildren. Ellen will be dearly missed. May her memory be a blessing.
