Obituary
Harvey L. Okun, of Baltimore, MD, passed away on Saturday, June 6th, 2026, peacefully with his family by his side. He is survived by his beloved wife, Kathie J. Okun (nee Herbst); loving children, Suzanne (Adam) Globerman, Laurie (Brian) Avrunin, Jonathan (Danielle) Okun and Jaclyn Okun (Oren Pincever); adored grandchildren, Cory Globerman, Macie Globerman, Brayden Avrunin, Logan Avrunin, Spencer Okun and Madelyn Okun. He was predeceased by his dear parents, Frances and Jerome Okun.
Harvey, affectionately known to those who loved him as “Harv” or “Harvman” was a loving, devoted, intelligent, and deeply caring man with a heart of gold and a wonderful sense of humor. His proudest accomplishments included being a dedicated and exceptional Dad to his four children (each of whom he made believe were his favorite!!), as well as an admired Poppy to his six grandchildren. He was the adored husband to his wife of 28 years. Although he loved watching the Orioles and the Terps, it was watching them with his family that meant the most to him. Harvey always had a deep passion for helping others, especially children, through causes including St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital and the Casey Cares Foundation.
