Obituary
Helen Davidson (nee Potts), of Baltimore, Maryland, passed away on Wednesday, September 2nd, 2026, at the age of 105. She is survived by her loving son, Steven Davidson. She was predeceased by her beloved husband, Elias Davidson; devoted son, Harry Davidson; and dear parents, Louis and Rebecca Potts.
Born and raised in Baltimore by her parents, Louis and Rebecca Potts, Helen devoted most of her life to caring for her community through extensive charitable work. Her dedication to helping others began as a candy striper at Sinai Hospital and continued through years of hospital visits alongside her cousin Rita Brenner at Kernan Children's Hospital and The Jewish War Veterans. Helen was a dynamic leader who served as president of her synagogue sisterhood, held the presidency of the Howard Goldstein Auxiliary of the Jewish War Veterans, and rose to become State President for Maryland and eventually National President for the entire country. When membership in the Goldstein auxiliary dwindled, she helped transition the remaining members to the Star of David Auxiliary, all while remaining an active member of Hadassah, the Red Hat Ladies, and Malcolm Fried Cancer Research. Beyond her formal leadership, Helen's warmth was felt daily in her neighborhood, where she was the trusted, go-to babysitter whenever a neighbor needed someone to watch their children after the school bus dropped them off. Whether stepping up to lead national organizations or simply opening her door to a neighbor in need, Helen left behind a legacy of quiet generosity, lifelong service, and unwavering devotion to those around her.
Graveside services will be held at Beth Tfiloh Cemetery, 5660 Windsor Mill Road, Baltimore, MD 21207, on Friday, September 4th, 2026, at 11am. Please omit flowers. Contributions in her memory may be sent to the charity of your choice. The family will be in mourning at Aventura at the Heights, 7218 Park Heights Avenue, Baltimore, MD 21208 immediately following the interment until 2pm.
