Howard I. Bernstein

Howard I. Bernstein of Pikesville, MD passed away on Friday August 15, 2025 at the age of 86. He is survived by his devoted and loving wife Lois Bernstein (nee Heneson), his caring children Hugh Bernstein (Stephanie Lichter) of Baltimore and Grant Bernstein of Long Beach, CA, his adored granddaughter Sydney Bernstein and his brother Saul Jacobs. He was predeceased by his parents Samuel Bernstein and Rose Bernstein-Jacobs, his stepfather Aaron Jacobs, his sister Selma Blum, his brother-in-law Joseph Blum, his sister-in-law Sheila Zaba Jacobs, his nephew Sanford Blum, his niece Carol Blum and his great nephew Michael Blum. He is also survived by his niece Gail (Jay) Freymen and his two great nephews. Howard appreciated his many kindhearted and concerned friends who helped him during his illness.

Services at Sol Levinson’s Chapel, 8900 Reisterstown Road, Baltimore, MD 21208 on Monday, August 18th at 12pm. Interment at Har Sinai Cemetery on Garrison Forest Rd. Contributions in his memory can be sent to the Alzheimer’s Association, 502 Washington Ave suite 300, Towson, MD 21204, or Beth Tfiloh Congregation, 3300 Old Court Road, Baltimore, MD 21208. The family will be in mourning at Quarry Lake Clubhouse, 2525 Quarry Lake Dr, Baltimore, MD 21209, following interment with a shiva service at 7:00 PM. Continuing on Tuesday and Wednesday starting at 1:00 with a shiva service at 7:00. Ending following the shiva service each evening.
