Howard Caplan

Howard Lee Caplan, of Scottsdale, Arizona, passed away on Tuesday, March 31st, 2026, at the age of 98. He is survived by his beloved wife, Carol Caplan (nee Cohen); loving daughter, Amy Caplan (Robert Abbott); devoted sons, David (Mindy) Caplan and Bob (Sally) Caplan; adoring grandchildren, Rachel (Cory) Brown, Rebecca Abbott (Avi Steinberg), Jason Caplan (Aaron Schultz), Jared Caplan, Mitchell Caplan (Ashley Perise), Jack Caplan (Stephanie Swanson), and Andrew Caplan (Hannah Murphy); and cherished great grandchildren, Teddy Brown, Ezra Brown, and Noam Steinberg. He was predeceased by his dear parents, Sara and Jacob Caplan.

He was a loving husband, fantastic father, doting grandfather, and marvelous great grandfather. He was a prolific punster, whistler, and natural extrovert. Poppy was adored by all.

Services at Sol Levinson's Chapel, 8900 Reisterstown Road, Pikesville, MD 21208, on Sunday, April 5th, 2026, at 12PM. Interment Arlington Chizuk Amuno Cemetery. Please omit flowers. Contributions in his memory may be sent to Chizuk Amuno Congregation, 8100 Stevenson Road, Baltimore, MD 21208. The family will be in mourning at 10815 Hudson Road, Owings Mills, 21117, on Sunday immediately following the interment with a service at 6:30pm and on Monday from 10am to 3pm, continuing at 6pm with a service at 6:30pm, and on Tuesday from 10am until 3pm.
