Obituary
Jacob Kaplan, of Towson, MD, passed away on Friday, September 5th, 2025, at the age of 66. He is survived by his cherished sister, Flora Kaplan. He was predeceased by his dear parents, Izzy and Lea Kaplan.
Jacob Kaplan was a brilliant and thoughtful man, known for his sharp mind and quick wit. This was especially evident during spirited games of "Jeopardy!" with his beloved sister Flora, which he nearly always won. A devoted sports fan, Jacob had a special passion for basketball and football, following the games with enthusiasm and insight.
He found peace in simple pleasures, whether it was taking long walks to clear his mind or casting a line while fishing. Traveling brought him joy, especially visits to his hometown of Pittsburgh and to North Carolina, both places that held special meaning for him. Jacob also had a deep appreciation for culture and community, often attending festivals in the Baltimore area. Jacob and his beloved sister Flora spent the Jewish holidays together, every year, without fail. It meant the world to both of them, and those shared traditions became a constant in their lives.
His presence was steady, thoughtful, and full of quiet warmth. Jacob will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him.
A funeral service will be held at Hillcrest Memorial Gardens, 1911 Forest Drive, Annapolis, MD 21401 on Friday, September 19th at 1:00 PM. Please omit flowers. Contributions in his memory may be sent to the charity of your choice.
