Obituary
Janet Zuckerman (1952–2025) Beloved mother, wife, grandmother, sister, daughter and friend.
Janet Zuckerman, 72, of Germantown Maryland, passed away at her home on June 23rd, 2025. Janet was born on August 4, 1952, to Milton and Sylvia in Brooklyn, NY, and grew up there with her brother Alan and sister Karen.
Janet attended Canarsie High School before meeting the love of her life, Robert Zuckerman, during a TV service call. Eager to start a life together, they married just a few months later on June 3, 1978. Janet and Robert soon started a family of their own. They had two children, Brian, born in 1980, and Adria, born in 1985. Their children were their world. Janet dedicated her time to helping Robert with his business and caring for her children as a stay-at-home mom.
Janet always enjoyed and excelled in singing, and passed her lifelong love of music to her children. She had many dogs throughout her life, and treated each like the valuable family member they were and cooked for them every day. She was always known to show her love through food.
Though she loved being a mom, Janet adored her role of being a grandma. She treasured her time with her seven grandsons and “Grandma Z” continued to share her love of singing and cooking with them. She truly loved Caedan, Cove, Rhys, Grey, Roman, Rex, and Gavin and while not being able to physically experience a lot of their lives, she was incredibly close with her children and found joy in learning about every detail from Brian and Adria in their daily talks.
Janet will be remembered for her Brooklyn accent, sense of humor, and the way she always wanted to spoil family and friends. No matter her limitations, she always found a way to make anything she set her mind to happen and give the very best to her children. While we will miss Janet every day, her memory will live on in the hearts of all those who loved her.
Janet was preceded in death by her parents, Milton Epstein and Sylvia Adler. She is survived by her husband, Robert Zuckerman; children, Brian Zuckerman (Kelly McMahon) and Adria Johnson (Tommy Johnson); grandchildren Caedan Zuckerman, Cove Zuckerman, Rhys Zuckerman, Grey Zuckerman, Roman Johnson, Rex Johnson, and Gavin Johnson; and her siblings, Karen Kanis and Alan Epstein.
A graveside service and interment will be held on June 30, 2025, at 12pm at Garden of Remembrance Memorial Park,14321 Comus Rd, Clarksburg, MD 20871.
“I would always say I’ll be with you always
Heaven’s not a far place
You’re here in my heart tonight
Every step I take is one less from your grace
Your tears roll down my face
You live through my life."
