Obituary
Jo Ellen Roseman (nee Krulee), of Columbia, Maryland, passed away on Saturday September the 6th, at the age of 81. She is survived by her beloved husband of 60 years, Mark Roseman; her loving sons, Daniel (Sharon) Roseman, and David (Amy) Roseman; caring brother, David Krulee; adoring grandchildren, Benjamin Roseman (Fiancée Ragan Toppan), Zachary Roseman, Jonah Roseman, and Chava Roseman; and by many more loving family and friends. She was predeceased by her devoted parents, Alfred and Alice Krulee.
Jo Ellen was a tireless advocate for science education, dedicating her life to igniting curiosity in students, empowering fellow educators, and advancing the field at the highest levels. She was a pioneer in science curriculum development, with millions of dollars in grant support and numerous publications in the top journals of her field. She continued to consult for many years after her retirement in 2020. Her passion for science was equaled only by her love for her family. As a devoted wife, mother, sister, granddaughter, and daughter, she embodied strength, generosity, and purpose in everything she did. A focused and eloquent communicator, she never wavered from her mission to uplift others and make a meaningful impact on the world. She will be deeply missed by all who were fortunate enough to know her.
