Obituary
Julie Mazer Lee, of Freeland, Maryland, passed away on Thursday, February 5th 2026, at the age of 61.
She was born in Baltimore, Maryland in 1964 and is preceded in death by parents Thelma Doris Sternheim and Stanley Z. (Marianne Githens) Mazer. She attended The Park School before earning a bachelor’s degree at Goucher College. She worked as a sales representative at Commerce Distributors and eventually owned her own business, Ultimate Salon in Owings Mills. She loved her family and friends deeply and was very proud of her daughter’s accomplishments. Julie was a genuine people person and could get along with anyone. She was an avid supporter of the Baltimore Ravens and by chance, her favorite color was purple. Her favorite pastime was spending time on the beach, searching for dolphins. She fought cancer with strength and dignity and passed peacefully.
Julie is survived by husband Jeffrey Lee; daughter Rachel (Matthew) Knauer; siblings Jeffrey (Debra) Mazer, Sharon (Gardiner) Nealon, and Jonathan (Helena) Githens-Mazer; nieces and nephews Maitland, Lilly, Nathaniel, and Gabriel; and beloved lifelong friend Tammie (Paul) Silverman.
