Obituary
Lowell R. Glazer, of Pikesville, Maryland, passed away on Saturday, August 22, 2026, at the age of 95.
Lowell began his adult life serving his country in the United States Air Force, an early chapter in a life defined by hard work, determination, loyalty, and a deep sense of responsibility to his family and community.
He went on to build a highly successful career in real estate development and construction as co-founder of A & G Construction and president of Glazer Construction. Through his work, Lowell helped shape the landscape of the Baltimore area, but the legacy he built extended far beyond his professional accomplishments.
Lowell believed deeply in giving back to the community that had given so much to him. Together with his beloved late wife, Harriet, he devoted himself to strengthening many of Baltimore’s most important institutions. His commitment to Sinai Hospital was particularly meaningful. He served as chairman of Sinai’s Board of Directors, and the Lowell and Harriet Glazer Atrium at Sinai Hospital stands as an enduring reflection of their generosity and commitment to the hospital and the community it serves.
His Jewish faith and community were central to his life. A longtime member and past president of Chizuk Amuno Congregation, Lowell was also deeply involved with The Associated: Jewish Federation of Baltimore. He had a deep and enduring love for Israel and believed strongly in supporting Jewish life both in Baltimore and beyond.
Lowell was also a devoted supporter of the University of Maryland, contributing to the university and its community in numerous ways throughout his life.
Yet for all of his professional accomplishments, community leadership, and philanthropy, Lowell was, above all, a family man. His family was his greatest source of pride and joy. He loved a good joke—and perhaps even more, he loved telling one—and his humor and playfulness were a constant presence at family gatherings. He believed that generosity and responsibility to others were values to be lived and passed from one generation to the next, encouraging his children and grandchildren to find causes meaningful to them and to experience for themselves the importance of giving back.
Lowell is survived by his loving daughter, Cindy (Jack) Bienenfeld; cherished sister, Viki Caplan; his dear sister and brother-in-law, Phyllis and Leonard Attman; his adored grandchildren, Tracy (Ben) Waller, Joshua (Rayni) Bienenfeld, and Jesse Glazer Crosby (Kait); and his cherished great-grandchildren, Emilia Hattie Waller, Henry Waller, and Harrison Bienenfeld.
He was predeceased by his beloved wife, Harriet Glazer (née Lazinsky); his loving daughter, Marci Glazer Crosby; his cherished sister, Bayda (Warren) Manison; his dear brother-in-law, Alan Caplan; and his devoted parents, Sara and Myer Glazer.
Lowell leaves behind not only the businesses, institutions, and community organizations he helped build and strengthen, but, most importantly, a family shaped by his example. His legacy of generosity, leadership, devotion to Jewish life and Israel, and love of family will endure for generations.
