Obituary
Marilyn Joyce “Goldie” Goldstein, age 77, passed away on October 9, 2026, at her home in Baltimore. Born on February 14, 1949, she was the daughter of the late Albert and Sylvia (nee Feldman) Goldstein. She grew up in the Park Heights and Milford Mill sections of Baltimore, graduating from Milford Mill High School and receiving a bachelor’s degree in Politics and Government from the University of Maryland in College Park. Politics remained one of her lifelong interests; she worked on a number of local and national campaigns, and often had signs supporting various candidates displayed in her yard. Having worked in the travel industry in various capacities, she traveled widely, both in the United States and internationally, with particularly memorable trips to Israel, Hong Kong, the Caribbean, Australia, England, and to her family’s ancestral towns in Belarus. A music lover, she enjoyed all genres from Motown to Country Western, with a special place in her heart for Elvis Presley. She also avidly followed baseball, football, and lacrosse, and rooted passionately for her home teams. She was devoted to her Jewish heritage and was proud to be a member of Baltimore’s vibrant Jewish community.
Marilyn is survived by her brother, Lawrence B. Goldstein (Alice), of Annapolis, her sister, Anne Goldstein-Rugel (Gerard Rugel), of Reston, VA; and by many beloved nieces, nephews, cousins, friends, colleagues, and neighbors, who mourn her loss.
Interment is private. A service in Marilyn's honor will be held at a later date. Please omit flowers. Contributions may be made to charity of your choice.
