Obituary

Martha Bromberger-Barnea (née Machanic) passed away peacefully on February 2, 2026 in Pikesville, Maryland, at the age of 97. Martha dedicated her life to her family, her patients, and her community.

Born and raised in the Bronx, Martha’s journey of lifelong learning began at Hunter College. She turned her passion for helping others into a long career as an Occupational Therapist, where she specialized in hand therapy. Beyond her professional achievements, Martha was an avid traveler, a dedicated volunteer, and a constant student of life through adult learning programs.

In her later years, Martha spent many happy hours ushering at local theaters and conducting tours of downtown Baltimore. Her love of the city was only surpassed by her love for her family. She was predeceased by her beloved husband, Baruch Bromberger-Barnea; dear sister Bernice Machanic, and devoted parents, Dorothy and Morris Machanic. Martha is survived by her devoted children: Lee Bromberger, Naomi Bromberger-Barnea, and Mark Barnea (Michelle); and her cherished grandchildren, Jessie Barnea (Ian Katz) and Alyssa Barnea. She remains a beloved figure to all who knew her.

Services at Sol Levinson's Chapel, 8900 Reisterstown Road, Pikesville, MD 21208, on Wednesday, February 4th, 2026, at 12 pm. Interment Chevra Ahavas Chesed Cemetery, Randallstown, MD.
