Rena "Hytsie" Simon

Rena "Hytsie" Simon (nee Gudis), of Owings Mills, MD, passed away on Monday, August 18th, 2025, at the age of 96. She is survived by her children, Sheila (Ivan) Goldberg, David (Ellen) Simon, Linda (Rob) Snyder, Marlene (Jeffrey) Schnitzer, and Steven (Laurie) Simon; by her daughter-in-law, Judy Simon; by her brother-in-law, Stanley Goden; by her grandchildren, Jamie Goldberg (Evan Gittler), Jennifer (Scott) Goolsby, Alan (Julia) Snyder, Amanda (Noah) Isserman, Allyson (Jason) Eisenberg, Shelby (Andrew) Rothman, Brandon (Rebecca) Simon, Carlee Simon (James Smith), and Ryan Simon (fiancee Rachael Mohr); and by her great-grandchildren, Jake Goolsby, Madyson Eisenberg, Carson Eisenberg, Emily Goolsby, Bryson Eisenberg, Ari Isserman, Seth Rothman, Carter Simon, Hannah Isserman, Ava Simon, Ezra Rothman, Milo Snyder, and Eli Gittler. She was predeceased by her husband, Alvin Simon; by her siblings, Bessie Stein, Doris Gary, and Zelda Goden; by her granddaughter, Ashleigh Simon; and by her parents, Yetta and Samuel Gudis.

Services at Sol Levinson's Chapel, 8900 Reisterstown Road, Pikesville, MD 21208, on Wednesday, August 20th, 2025, at 11:00 am. Interment Forband Cemetery (Lazar Rissa Sklar Family Circle) - Rosedale. Please omit flowers. Contributions in her memory may be sent to Chabad of Owings Mills, 11299 Owings Mills Blvd., Suite 202, Owings Mills, MD 21117. The family will be in mourning at 16 Belladonna Court, Owings Mills, Maryland 21117, following interment on Wednesday through Tuesday. The family will receive 12pm to 4pm with services at 7pm each evening. Shiva service on Sunday morning will be at 9am.
