Toby Kahn

Toby Kahn (born Finkelstein), beloved wife, mother, grandmother, and sister passed away on August 6th, 2025, at the age of 91. Born to Morris and Rose Finklestein on July 8th, 1934. Toby’s life was a testament to love, joy, and happiness.

Toby met and married her lifelong love, Sidney Kahn, in the late 1950s. Together they created a beautiful home where they cherished their daughters, Joan and Faye. Toby’s world revolved around her family. She found no greater joy than being surrounded by her loved ones.

Toby radiated joy and warmth. Her kindness was infectious. She enjoyed sharing her love by giving thoughtful presents and gifts to any and everyone. She found such joy in making others happy. Toby was a woman constantly in motion. She loved to walk her children to and from school every day. A tradition she carried on by walking her grandchildren throughout the neighborhood. Toby took immense pride in being a wonderful mother and grandmother. Love was imbedded in every step she took.

Known for her timeless and youthful presence, Toby was a true fashion icon. She had an extraordinary knack for putting together outfits and makeup that perfectly reflected her vibrant spirit.

Toby's legacy of love lives on through her devoted daughters, Joan (Patrick) Hodgson and Faye (Richard) Bower; her adored grandchildren, Nick (Brooke) Hodgson, Alison Hodgson, Alexis Bower, Robin (Michael) Harrington, Jake Bower, and Landon Harrington; and her sisters, Esther Hawtof and Beverly (Robert) Umansky. She is now reunited with her husband, Sidney Kahn.

Services will be held at Sol Levinson's Chapel, 8900 Reisterstown Road, Pikesville, MD 21208, on Tuesday, August 12, 2025, at 1 p.m. Interment is to be determined. Please omit flowers.
